CREATE A CAPSULE WARDROBE FOR WORK
Want to think less about what to wear to the office and more about being a boss babe in your career? Consider this your ultimate guide to an easy work wardrobe you love…
What is a capsule wardrobe?
Simply put, a capsule wardrobe is your ticket to stress-free dressing! Imagine a collection of clothes that work seamlessly with each other to create interchangeable outfit options and you’ve got it. It’s all about mixing and matching for different fashion formulas.
How many looks can I get from my capsule wardrobe?
The answer really is limitless. Using 15 pieces as a starter, you can make up to 106 outfit options, and continue to grow that number by adding new pieces and breathing new life into your daily rotations.
Where do I start?
Right here! It can take time to carefully curate your capsule (read on to find out how) or just ask your Wear That personal stylist, and we’ll do all the hard work for you.
What do I need to create my capsule wardrobe?
We believe a fully functional capsule consists of around 15 items (a mix of tops, bottoms, dresses and jackets) plus shoes and accessories on top. A great starting point is investing in the quality basics you know you’ll get wear out of.
Here’s your capsule checklist:
- Elevated white t-shirt
- Trench coat
- White shirt
- Wrap dress
- Black blazer
- Black pants
- Black tank top
- Printed smart blouse
- Black dress
- Neutral turtleneck or light knit
- Jeans
- Cream pleated skirt
- Pencil skirt or A-line skirt
- Wide leg cream pants
- Camel blazer
What accessories do I need to go with these looks?
Here are some key classic styles that will go with everything in your capsule but feel free to incorporate your own favorites here to add color and creativity, and always add jewelry.
- Nude pumps
- Black belt
- Classic tote bag
- Tan belt
- Black sandals
- Black ballet flats or loafers
What goes with what?
Here are just a few of the combinations you can create with the above checklists:
Styling tip: Style your capsule items differently each time to keep them looking fresh. For example, a white shirt can be half tucked in with cigarette pants, fully tucked in for a pencil skirt or worn loose with jeans.
As you can see, the options are endless! We recommend adding statement pieces to your capsule as and when you need a little flair and bear in mind seasonality. Your capsule will need a little gear shift between summer and winter!
